I led a team of five reporters as part of the Steel City Sling editorial team, managing workflow and providing feedback to ensure high-quality, consistent coverage. This resulted in a well-rounded, reliable news product that reflected the interests of our readership.

I built a strong network of contacts in the local Sheffield community by actively engaging with sources on the ground and following up on leads. This enabled us to maintain a steady stream of relevant and timely stories throughout the publication cycle.

I worked closely with the print and social media teams, using Adobe InDesign to contribute to newspaper layout and coordinate content for platforms like Instagram, X (Twitter), and Facebook. This helped create a cohesive cross-platform presence that expanded our audience reach.

I balanced editorial oversight with hands-on content creation by editing articles, sourcing visuals, and staying involved in story development from pitch to publication. This ensured our work met journalistic standards while remaining accessible and engaging.

As part of the editorial team at Doze, an independent sleep and wellness magazine, I was responsible for maintaining the content flow across our digital platforms. Using WordPress, I updated and scheduled articles, ensured SEO best practices were followed, and collaborated with writers to keep the publishing calendar on track.

Alongside editorial duties, I worked with multimedia content—sourcing and editing images, embedding video interviews, and helping to format interactive elements. This role allowed me to contribute to both the creative and technical sides of the magazine, ensuring a consistent and engaging user experience across formats.
