About Me

I am experienced in written, radio, and TV journalism. My adventures with The Telegraph and student media through Forge Press and spending a year abroad broadened my perspective and storytelling.

My Experience

Freelance Writer, The Telegraph

At The Telegraph, I had the opportunity to publish a feature piece in a national outlet, sharpening my editorial judgement through close collaboration with senior editors. I also contributed to the Daily T podcast, gaining hands-on experience in audio production and interview techniques, which improved my confidence and adaptability in multimedia storytelling.

Freelance Writer, Forge Press

Over a year, I produced long and short-form articles for Forge Press, deepening my understanding of SEO, analytics, and audience engagement. I also managed multiple editorial projects, often coordinating interviews across time zones, strengthening my project management and cross-cultural communication skills.

Gardener and Groundskeeper

While this role lies outside journalism, running a small business taught me valuable skills in client communication, consistency, and promotion. One example was growing a social media presence that led to 70+ client enquiries annually. Event planning and liaising with resident partners gave me strong insights into developing a patch within my local community.

My Education

University of Sheffield – BA Journalism Studies with International Experience

My time at Sheffield has given me a strong foundation in core journalism skills, from live news production and court reporting to media law. Alongside academic work, I’ve been active in student societies — coordinating for the Spanish Society and playing for both rugby and football teams — which has helped develop my teamwork, organisation, and communication skills. This well-rounded experience has shaped me into a confident, versatile journalist with a strong grasp of the UK media landscape.

Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (Year Abroad)

Studying in Madrid gave me an international perspective on politics and media. I also had the chance to improve my Spanish through over 100 hours of formal classes. I achieved A1 and A2 qualifications, and my B1/B2 is in progress. Regularly scoring first class in political science modules, I learned to analyse complex international issues critically and communicate ideas effectively in a multilingual environment.
